Fish lovers and visitors from Lagos and other parts of Nigeria came down to have a good time and enjoy the best of fishes gotten by Lagos Fishermen at the Lagos Seafood Festival which took place recently. ⁣The festival marks the end of a fruitful year and ushers in a new one and GuardianTV was on the ground to cover one of the most anticipated events in the city of Lagos.⁣

The Nigerian Army fired live rounds at peaceful protesters at a toll gate in Lagos in October 2020, according to a leaked report into the incident seen by Reuters and verified by three sources close to the panel that drafted it. The report described the incident as a "massacre", said most of the army officers deployed to the Lekki Toll Gate were "not fit and proper to serve" and recommended prosecuting certain policemen for their actions.

Five persons have lost their lives while a number of persons yet to be ascertained injured in a gas explosion at Odekunle Street, Papa Ajao, Mushin, Lagos, on Tuesday morning.⁣⁣ The fire incident was said to have been caused by a woman frying bean cake (Akara) close to a gas cylinder.⁣ Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are currently at the scene of the explosion.⁣⁣

#EndSARS protester, Kamsiyochukwu Ibe, who testified before a Lagos Judicial Panel on the alleged role of the military and the police in the Lekki shooting of October 20, 2021, has been attacked by hoodlums who left her with machete wounds. This was disclosed on Monday by members of the Joint #EndSARS at a press conference in Lagos. They added that Miss Ibe has been hospitalised following the attack and is responding to treatment.⁣ ⁣

At least eight people were killed in Somalia's capital on Thursday (November 25) when Islamist militants launched a suicide attack on a U.N. security convoy using a vehicle laden with explosives, officials and witnesses said. The Islamist group al Shabaab claimed responsibility for the huge blast which rocked Mogadishu and injured at least 23 people, including school students, sending a column of smoke above the city. Gunfire echoed around the scene, witnesses said. It was not immediately clear if any U.N. personnel were among those killed or injured in the huge blast, which targeted the U.N. convoy as it passed near the site of a school.
