A growing number of international brands are facing a backlash in China over their support for Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang Province. H&M, Nike, Adidas and Burberry are among the fashion labels to say they will no longer use cotton from the region, because of concerns about forced labour there. Allyson Stewart-Allen of International Marketing Partners says customers and employees are increasingly calling on companies to take a stand on social and environmental issues.
