Temperature records will exceed ’50° Celsius in Europe in the future’ says WMO

The World Meteorological Organisation's head of applied climate services Bob Stefanski says the organisation is seeking to verify a temperature record in Sicily of 48.8 degrees Celsius and that temperature records for continental Europe may exceed 50 degrees Celsius in the future.
