Many countries including UK, Australia, Nigeria, South Africa, China have suspended the operation of the Max 8 pending when civil aviation authorities give it clearance to take flight again.

Boeing has now paused all 737 Max deliveries and the FAA says Boeing planes could be grounded through April. Flight control software needs to be upgraded and pilots trained. Donald Trump says he hopes the grounding will be for a “short period” and is “cautionary.”
