YouTube expands into original content with 40 new shows

YouTube plans to produce a half-dozen original series that will be available for free on the world’s most popular video website.

Google has closed down 210 channels on its platform for uploading videos about the on-going protests in Hong Kong. Some of the accounts were said to have posed as news organizations and entities but are discovered to have links to the Chinese government. This came days after Twitter and Facebook disabled hundreds of related accounts to the protest.

American video-sharing platform, YouTube has launch YouTube Music and YouTube Music Premium in Nigeria. The video platform announced that YouTube Music is free but supported by advertising. While YouTube Premium is a paid streaming subscription service that provides advertising-free streaming of all videos hosted by YouTube, exclusive original content produced in collaboration with the site's creators.
