Pioneering Pig kidney transplant patient Richard Slayman dies at 62

Richard "Rick" Slayman, 62, who made history as the first person to undergo a pig kidney transplant, has passed away. This is just two months post-operation, according to Massachusetts General Hospital. Slayman suffered from end-stage kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. With the pig kidney transplant being successful, his death wasn't linked to the procedure by doctors.
