‘We are working to make sure Nigeria continues to be peaceful’ – Nigerian Army

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently in a meeting with his military service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the State House in Abuja. The meeting, which is coming in the midst of escalating security challenges in parts of the northern region of the country, especially Plateau, Benue and Borno states, where hundreds of lives have been lost in the last few weeks. It is also coming just a couple of days after President Tinubu approved the immediate establishment and deployment of units of forest guards to beef up security across 1,129 forests country-wide.
