Hundreds gather in San Francisco to protest against hate

Hundreds of demonstrators are taking to the streets in San Francisco to protest against hate groups that had planned to hold a free-speech rally in the city before it was cancelled by organizers.

Climate activists burst onto the catwalk brandishing banners reading "Overconsumption = extinction" at Louis Vuitton's Paris Fashion Week show. Extinction Rebellion, Friends of the Earth and Youth For Climate said in a statement that around 30 people were involved in planning the protest, with two arrested. They called on the government to enforce "an immediate cut in production levels in the sector, given that 42 items of clothing were sold per person in France in 2019".

Angry protesters gather outside Netflix in Los Angeles, over a new Dave Chappelle comedy special that has sparked accusations the comedian is trampling transgender rights and profiting from hate speech. A few dozen staff walked off the job and were joined by a similar number of trans activists and their supporters for a demonstration calling for better representation at the Hollywood streaming giant.

Protesters gathered at the Agareb landfill to protest its reopening on Wednesday, a day after a demonstrator died from allegedly inhaling tear gas fired by police at a similar rally. "It is not reasonable for the army to protect a place of waste and to fire tear gas and attack the protesters," said a protester. Tunisia’s General Trade Union (UGTT) called for a general strike and a day of mourning in Agareb following the death of the 35-year-old protester.
