Germany: Commissioner calls for extending voting rights to 85,000 disabled people

Thousands of Germans cannot vote because of a disability that requires them to have a legal guardian. On the International Day of Disabled Persons, Germany's disability commissioner says the law has to change.

The publisher of The Guardian Newspapers, Lady Maiden Alex-Ibru, has won the 2021 Ladies Tiffany Circle/Red Cross Courage to Dream Award.
