1,755 inmates on the run after attack on Imo prison attack

Minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola disclosed that amnesty will be granted to escaped inmates who surrenders while assessing the level destruction by unknown gunmen at the facility on Monday.

Authorities at the Imo State Correctional Centre say only 88 inmates are in custody following an attack by unidentified gunmen on Monday. 1,755 inmates are still on the run.
