Seme Customs Command records 431 seizures valued at N300m

The Seme Customs command has intercepted a truck loaded with rotten hide and skin popularly known as ‘Ponmo’.

Hundreds of people, along with perishable items worth millions of naira, are stranded at Nigeria’s Seme and Idiroko borders as personnel of the Nigeria Customs Service look to secure the country’s porous borders.

Officials of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, disclosed that they have intercepted two buses belonging to a big transport company over alleged movement of illicit drugs into the country. The buses, which were en route Lagos from Ghana, were intercepted during “an inward clearance” of passengers on board the bus.
