Uganda’s traditional kingdom of Buganda, a state within a state

The largest monarchy in East Africa can be found in Uganda. The traditional kingdom of Buganda is a true state within a state, retaining its political powers and spanning a vast part of the territory. At its helm, King Mutebi II governs 14 million people in the central part of the country, but rarely appears in public.
