Republic of Congo President Sassou N’Guesso wins re-election

Congo Brazzaville's president is re-elected with more than 88 percent of the vote, according to provisional results. After 36 years in power, Denis Sassou Nguesso's victory was expected. His closest rival died on polling day from Covid-19. Also, after months of denying the presence of Eritrean troops in the conflict in Ethiopia's northern Tigray region, PM Abiy Ahmed admits they have crossed the border and acknowledges reports of atrocities. And in eastern Cameroon, we see how the last bloat of hippos are in danger due to local mining activities polluting their waters.
