The recently concluded Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) election has renewed calls for reforms within the legal profession. Complaints over technical glitches that reportedly prevented some members from voting have raised concerns about the credibility of the association’s electoral process.
The election also underscores the
need for the NBA to uphold the same standards of free, fair and credible elections it demands of public institutions.
Attention has now shifted to the newly elected leadership, with expectations of reforms across the Bar and the Bench, alongside efforts to rebuild public trust by promoting integrity, accountability and professionalism within the legal profession.
