Technology giants including Google, Facebook and Twitter have temporarily stopped processing requests from Hong Kong authorities for access to user data, after a new national security law was implemented. The new rules could see employees of companies which don't comply with the rules face up to six months in prison. The Chinese-owned video platform Tiktok has announced it will pull its app from download stores in Hong Kong as a result of the measures.

Also today, Pinterest agrees a $22.5 million settlement with its former chief operating officer, who had accused the company of gender discrimination.

Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis granted an interview to FRANCE 24 from the capital Nicosia. The northern third of the Republic of Cyprus has been under Turkish domination since 1974. Anastasiadis said that Russia's invasion of Ukraine uses the "exact same arguments that Turkey used to invade Cyprus".
