Don’t look down: Portugal opens world’s longest suspension footbridge

Thousands of people in Portugal are marking the fiftieth anniversary of the country's Carnation Revolution – a military coup that put an end to Europe's longest dictatorship and to 13 years of colonial wars in Africa.

Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa had called for Lisbon to find ways to compensate its former colonies, including canceling debt. The government says it has not initiated any process to that effect.

Harvey Weinstein has been hospitalized in New York following the overturning of his 2020 rape conviction by the New York Court of Appeals. According to his attorney, Arthur Aidala, Weinstein was admitted to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan for a series of tests.
