Ancient Petra a ghost town as pandemic hits Jordan tourism

Only a few months after celebrating one million visitors in a year, the Nabataean ancient city of Petra, Jordan's best known tourist destination, is transformed into a ghost town as it remains closed to visitors after Jordan imposed measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
