Big Brother is watching you! India’s CCTV boom

In 2019, India's Hindu nationalist government was accused of surveilling its activists, scholars, journalists and politicians. A recent report released by a UK-based cyber security and privacy research firm, Comparitech, concluded that several Indian cities top the list of the most surveilled cities worldwide. According to Amnesty International, India's tech capital of Hyderabad is on the brink of becoming a "total surveillance city".
