Zimbabwe activists demand end to ‘assault on human rights’ ahead of SADC summit

A court in Zimbabwe has denied bail to three prominent activists after they protested for the release of detained opposition leader Jameson Timba. Rights groups say it's part of a crackdown on dissent ahead of the Southern African Development Community summit, opening in Harare on Saturday.Meanwhile in Tunisia, at least seven women politicians, activists and journalists languish behind bars. Supporters say their prosecutions are politically motivated.
