Worshippers pray during Eid al-Adha at National Mosque in Abuja

The faithful attend prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja, on the occasion of the Aid al-Adha, the holiest of the two Muslim holidays celebrated each year. It marks the annual Muslim pilgrimage (Hajj) to visit Mecca, Islam's holiest site. Muslims sacrifice an animal and divide the meat into three parts: one for the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for the poor and needy.
