The EU has long talked about unfair competition from China. After a nine-month probe, Brussels announced additional tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, establishing that those cars have benefited heavily from “unfair subsidies”, which pose a threat electric vehicle producers in Europe. Beijing has accused the EU of “naked protectionism” which it said will harm relations and undermine global efforts on climate change.
