Napoli unveiled a statue of club great Diego Maradona to mark the first anniversary of his death at the start of their Serie A match against Lazio on Sunday. Napoli put on a dazzling display, storming to a 4-0 win over Lazio on Sunday to move three points clear at the top of Serie A. Maradona died on Nov. 25 last year and to mark the anniversary, Napoli unveiled a statue inside the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium pre-match and wore shirts with the Argentine's face on them for the Lazio clash.

The statue of footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic's statue in his hometown of Malmo, Sweden was vandalised overnight Saturday, with vandals cutting the feet off. The statue has been the target of numerous attacks since the Swedish footballer invested in Stockholm-based Hammarby, angering supporters of Malmo FF, the club where he began his professional career.
