We'll face 'serious effects if we don't take actions on climate' warns Cambridge's researcher Cernev

The world faces a catastrophic collapse of societies if action is not taken to stop the breaching of “planetary boundaries” – safe spaces within which humanity could continue to develop and thrive. That is the stark warning from the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk at Cambridge University. One of the centre’s researchers, Tom Cernev, who authored a paper that was recently published by the UN’s Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, is our guest in the France 24 interview.

A Roman Catholic priest has begun documenting the stories of those whose lives have been devastated by the war in Ukraine. Father Patrick Desbois is a former head of the Church's Commission for Relations with Judaism and spent years documenting the murder of 1.5 million Jews by the Nazis in Ukraine. He has now turned his attention to the present day, gathering eyewitness accounts from victims of what he says are war crimes and crimes against humanity by Russian troops.
