The book, 'The Nigerian Flagship' authored by Aaron Ukodie and Seun Ogunseitan, tells the story behind the creation of the paper and its founding publisher, Alex Uruemu Ibru. The 600-page book captures first-hand memoirs of experiences by former staff, narrating what went into the creation of the iconic brand that is called The Guardian. Alex Ibru (1 March 1945 – 20 November 2011) was a Nigerian businessman, founder, and publisher of The Guardian newspaper and the former Minister of Internal Affairs from 1993 to 1995.
