Nigeria has submitted a first of its kind, Pidgin language film, 'Mami Wata', hoping it will be entered for a Foreign Language Oscar after picking up several awards including at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Mami Wata, which was shot entirely in black and white, is an exploration and creative reimagination of the mythology of a titular mermaid deity of West African folklore.
