The legislation was initially approved by the lower house of parliament but rejected by the Senate, where the right-wing opposition has a majority. Every year, around 3,000 women in France who wish to undergo IVF, but are not in a relationship with a man, travel to other European countries where the procedure is available. But this option comes at a significant financial cost. FRANCE 24's Claire Paccalin and Eléonore Vanel went to meet two of these single mothers.
