The famous French comic strip is celebrating its birthday with a new volume – and for the first time, with a female leading character. Over the past six decades, more than 380 million Asterix comic books have been sold.

He's a little Gallic warrior who's a big cultural phenomenon in France. The 40th volume of beloved comic Asterix was released this week. We hear from first-time Asterix author Fabcaro about what the comic books meant to him growing up, as well as fans talking about their favourite characters. We also visit a retrospective of Dutch fashion photographer Viviane Sassen, whose work straddles the worlds of fashion and fine art.
