Insurgents in English-speaking regions of western Cameroon have launched a series of attacks on security forces. Calls for Anglophone autonomy in the West African country have escalated since the government cracked down on a protest movement.
At least 17 people have been reported dead and several injured in Cameroon’s restive anglophone belt at the weekend. Those killed and injured were part of a separatist group demanding independence from Cameroon.
