Lagos battles severe floods as heavy rains continue

Over the past few weeks, heavy rainfall has unleashed severe flash flooding across Lagos, Nigeria, submerging communities and disrupting lives. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has warned of intense rain from August 4 to 6, 2025, predicting flash floods in Lagos and other southern states, including Oyo, Ogun, Edo, Delta, and Bayelsa.
