Kagame and Tshisekedi meet in Qatar for first direct talks since latest escalation in eastern DRC

In a surprising turn of events, DR Congo and Rwanda's presidents held an informal meeting in Qatar on Tuesday. It was their first direct talks since Rwanda-backed M23 rebels seized two major cities in eastern DR Congo. In a joint statement, Felix Tshisekedi and Paul Kagame expressed their support for a ceasefire.
