The National Coordinator for the Education Rights Campaign, Hassan Taiwo Soweto, highlights several demands of the protesters, which are said to include: Reversing fuel and electricity prices to pre-May 29, 2023, levels. Ending hardship and hunger. Recalling victimized activists and freeing all #EndSARS detainees. Halting school fee hikes and providing study grants instead of loans. Placing political office holders on minimum wage. Ending anti-poor and neo-liberal capitalist policies. Fixing and building public refineries under democratic control. Reversing the privatization of public enterprises. Ending insecurity, police brutality, and kidnapping. Halting illegal demolitions and forced evictions. Creating decent jobs and providing unemployment benefits. Prosecuting corrupt politicians and returning stolen wealth. Ending security votes. Ensuring free quality healthcare for all. Protecting press freedom and releasing all political detainees, including journalists and bloggers.
