The days of Thailand's iconic long-tail boats might be numbered. Also known as the "Gondolas of the South", the slender vessels typically have a secondhand car or truck engine and a propeller attached to the end of a long pole. They are fast and nimble - but at the same time noisy and smelly. The German company 'Torqeedo' is now planning what could become a silent revolution on Thailand's waters.
