Shares in Netflix plunged by almost nine percent in after-hours trading on Wall Street on Tuesday, after the streaming giant announced a major slowdown in subscriber growth. Netflix added just four million new customers in the first three months of 2021, compared to 16 million in the same period last year. The company is hoping that new seasons of hit shows like "Sex Education" will help boost growth later this year. Our guest has made history for several reasons. Ruth E Carter is the first woman of colour to receive an Oscar for costume design for the iconic film "Black Panther", where among other things she transformed Chadwick Boseman into the King of Wakanda. She made history again earlier this year when she got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making her the first Black costume designer to receive the distinction and only the second costume designer ever to have a star.

Starring Monica Bellucci and Yahya Mahayn, "The Man Who Sold His Skin" tells the story of a Syrian refugee who agrees to become a living piece of art so he can travel to Europe. Set in Lagos, Nigeria Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) follows the stories of Mofe, a factory technician, and Rosa, a hairdresser, on their quest for what they believe will be a better life on foreign shores. A passport, photos and a visa form recurring elements. The characters’ misfortunes are part of their everyday life and they are sketching out the need to leave Nigeria at the same time. At the bottom of the socio-economic ladder, status, money, gender, skin colour and family structures are inextricably connected. The longing for another life is but one thread in this complex mesh, a promise that floats above things at once near and far away.​
