Cannes chronicles: David Cronenberg presents ‘The Shrouds’, inspired by death of his wife

David Cronenberg – or Dave Deprave, as he's sometimes nicknamed – is the father of body horror. "The Shrouds" is the director's seventh film in competition at Cannes. Each one has been controversial. His first Cannes movie in 1996, "Crash", inspired mass walkouts at its premiere but ended up winning a Special Jury Prize.
