Austria: white caviar, Salzburg’s unexpected treasure

In Grödig, a village near Salzburg, Austria, Walter Grüll breeds the extremely rare albino sturgeon, whose caviar will soon be shipped around the world at incredible cost on New Year's Eve. "It's even softer, even more melt-in-the-mouth than the traditionally black one," he says, washing his harvest before salting it and dividing it into different boxes, worth a total of about 8,000 euros.
