Talks between French Prime Minister François Bayrou and leaders of the far-right National Rally (RN) party Tuesday ahead of a crunch September 8 confidence vote did not achieve a compromise. Senior RN politicians Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella instead called for snap legislative elections.
