Violent protests have erupted at one of Kenya’s largest refugee camps, as displaced residents in Kakuma protest steep cuts in rations and slashed aid from the US and other donors. At least one person has been killed and two police officers injured, according to local authorities. We speak with a refugee living in the camp, as well as the author of a study examining the impact of declining assistance in Kakuma.
