French government prepares response to farmers’ protests as unions submit demands

French agricultural unions have submitted a list of 24 demands to the government after a fuel tax rise sparked long-standing resentment. On Thursday, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal held a meeting with finance and environment ministers to decide on measures to ease the crisis.
