Senegalese migrants attempt dangerous crossing to Spain’s Canary Islands

The number of people attempting to reach Europe via irregular migration routes from Senegal has exploded in recent months. Since the start of the year, more than 30,000 migrants, mostly Senegalese, have arrived in the Spanish Canary Islands.
