The holiday dilemma: French employers face challenge of annual leave buildup

Many French businesses have only just reopened due to Covid-19 restrictions, but some are already considering closing for part of the summer. Employees have built up their annual leave during the government-ordered closures for sectors like hospitality. As a result, employers could face staffing shortages. French law does allow companies to force workers to take some leave, but it has proven controversial. Also today, WhatsApp is taking legal action in India over new media rules.
