At least one person has died after protests erupted in Ivory Coast on Thursday as President Ouattara announced he will run for a controversial third term. In Mozambique, a jihadist group affiliated to the so-called Islamic State has taken over a port city in the north of the country, the government has tried to play down reports that it has lost control.
