Five strikes and he’s out: on-loan panda artificially inseminated at French zoo

After five futile attempts at impregnating Huan Huan, a female panda loaned to French zoo Beauval by China, her enthusiastic but ineffective partner Yuan Zi has had to step aside. Huan Huan has now been artificially inseminated, leaving Yuan Zi, who "does not have enough experience yet" according to the head vet at the zoo, to hope for better next time round.
