By early evening, the courts at Magic Padel were already alive. Padel balls struck the glass walls as players chased difficult returns, music floated through the venue, and guests gathered around the newly unveiled Guinness bar with drinks in hand.
It was Tuesday night at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, and Lagos had found another reason to stay out. Guinness Nigeria Plc and Magic Padel brought guests together to celebrate a partnership built around sport, relaxation and social connection.
The idea behind the space is simple. Visitors can play a match, watch from beside the court or relax with friends after a long day. It offers the energy of a sporting venue without losing the warmth of a Lagos hangout.
Among the guests were the Chairman of the Board of Guinness Nigeria Plc, Professor Fabian Ajogwu, SAN; the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Girish Sharma; and the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola. Maya Semaan, owner and Operations Manager of Magic Padel, also welcomed guests to the venue.
Some visitors arrived prepared to play, while others preferred to watch. Newcomers soon discovered that padel looked easier from outside the court. Ambitious swings produced missed shots and laughter, while successful rallies drew applause from spectators who briefly abandoned their conversations to follow the game.
Around the courts, the new Guinness bar became a comfortable meeting point. Guests moved between matches, music and conversations without leaving the venue.
