700 inmates released from prison in Congo to ease overcrowding

About 729 inmates were released on Saturday from Makala prison in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Among those granted freedom are 600 adults and 129 minors, who received parole following the implementation of a measure aimed at alleviating overcrowding in this facility, which holds many individuals in pretrial detention for minor offenses.
