Earlier today, in Abuja and some parts of Nigeria, protesters converged to commemorate the first anniversary of the #RevolutionNow protests that saw a cross-section of Nigerians demanding better governance from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari on 5 August 2019.⁣ This did not go down well with the security agencies who descend on protesters in an effort to stop the protest.

The Federal High Court on Monday in Abuja revied reviewed the bail conditions granted to the detained convener of RevolutionNow protest and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, in his alleged treasonable felony charges.The presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu in her verdict waived the earlier stipulations that said Sowore should deposit N50m as a security deposit. She also reduced the amount attached to co-defendant Olawale Bakare’s bail to N20 million.
