Polish scientists says they have discovered the world's first pregnant Egyptian mummy while carrying out scans on the 2,000-year-old remains kept at the National Museum in Warsaw. The mummy was brought to Poland in the 19th century and became part of the antiquities collection at the University of Warsaw. It has been kept at the National Museum since 1917, where it is on show to the public alongside the sarcophagus.

A pregnant elephant was killed in India after eating fruit stuffed with explosives, officials said Wednesday, sparking outrage over the use of such traps to protect crops and homes. The wild elephant strayed into a village near Silent Valley National Park in south Kerala state last Wednesday when it ate the rigged fruit -- believed to be a pineapple -- which exploded and severely injured its mouth, officials said.

68-year-old Margaret Adenuga and husband Noah, 70 have been delivered of twins at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba. Lagos, Nigeria. The woman was pregnant for the first time following an in vitro fertilisation. She was delivered of the babies – a boy and a girl – through an elective Caesarean section on April 14.
