Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, says the country will adopt the concept of digital identifications and replace the national identity cards with a digital scheme. The new strategy is expected to ensure linkage among on the digital number, an individual’s identity, passport and Driver’s License among others. Joining CNBC Africa’s Christy Cole to discuss this as well as strategies for managing national identity in Nigeria is Aliyu Aziz, Director General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission.
