The three countries have agreed the filling of the Nile dam should start in the wet season and proceed in stages. But they have delayed making a final agreement until later in January.

Egypt and Ethiopia have agreed to resume talks to resolve a dispute over the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Nile River, now according to Nigeria's Vice President, speaker of Egypt's parliament has asked the West African country's leadership to help mediate the talks. Analyst, Ken Agutamba joins CNBC Africa for more.
