His announcement came at a time when chaos had broken out in the country at the possibility of him running for a third term, something Sall fought against before he became president. Should he be commended for not going ahead with his plans to bend the law?

Senegalese President Macky Sall says he won't seek a third term in 2024 elections after protests. In a speech shared live on his Facebook account, Sall said that he would not be a candidate 'even if the constitution allows me to do so.'
