A refurbished football pitch commissioned by Nike to honour legendary player Cristiano Ronaldo has opened to the public in the star's hometown in Santo Antonio, as seen on Wednesday. A local resident could be seen kicking a ball around the court, which came complete with a painted goal. The inspirational phrase 'Greatness starts with a goal' woven into its netting.

This nine-year-old Nigerian boy has been declared cancer-free after readers of two UK newspapers raised £216,000 for his treatment. Nathaniel Nabena had gone to the UK from his hometown in Bayelsa, Nigeria, in September 2020 to get a prosthetic eye after his left eye was removed due to cancer.

Wall-scaling artists have painted a mural of Lionel Messi in the Argentinian town where he was born 34 years ago. The mural covers one end of a four-story apartment building in the La Bajada neighborhood of Rosario where the star lived as a child, and faces the primary school he attended.
